Fire5 privacy policy
Last updated 27 October 2026
Fire5 is a daily solo card puzzle made by The Gaming Vanguard LLC, which publishes it as TGV ("we", "us"). This policy covers the Fire5 apps for Android and iOS and the Fire5 website. For anything about it, write to support@gamingvanguard.com.
In short
- No ads, no analytics SDKs, no tracking, and we never sell or rent your data.
- The first time you open Fire5 it asks whether to join the leaderboards. If you do, it sends us each game you finish, with a random player ID and the nickname you chose, if any. If you play offline, your games, nickname and player ID stay on your device.
- You can delete your data yourself: Menu > About > Delete my data.
- Nicknames and scores are public on the leaderboards.
- Our server never sees your IP address.
- Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play or the App Store.
What stays on your device
The app keeps your saved games, your settings, the nickname you chose, a random player ID, a random secret (which shows that later changes to your nickname come from the same device), whether you agreed to the nickname rules, whether you joined the leaderboards, the players you have blocked, how many free games you have played today, and whether you own the Full version. They stay on your device; deleting the app or clearing its data removes them.
What the app sends us, and why
Once you have joined the leaderboards, when you finish a game the app sends us: the deal number and the date you played it, every move you made and your score, your player ID and nickname, the versions of the app and of the rules, and your device's secret. We use this to check the score (we replay your moves), to show it on the leaderboards, and to improve the game: we study how games are played, on our own computers too. If you play offline, none of this is sent. You can change your answer at any time with the "Join leaderboards" switch in the menu; turning it off stops what is sent from then on, and Delete my data (below) removes what we already hold. We keep the secret only as a one-way hash. When you change your nickname, the app sends the new one with your player ID. If you report another player's nickname from the leaderboards, the app sends us that player's leaderboard reference and your player ID, so we can review the report and tell repeat reports apart; that is the one thing you can send while playing offline, and only when you choose to. Blocking a player stays on your device; we never see it.
With every request the app also says which app and version is asking (for example "Fire5/0.7.2 (Android)"); we do not store this.
What is public
The leaderboards show the nickname, score and a short tag for each player, for each daily deal and for the last 30 days. They are shown in the apps and to anyone who asks our server for them. If you set no nickname, you appear as "Anonymous" with a tag made from your player ID. Please don't use your real name as a nickname. Nicknames must follow our nickname rules, at https://fire5.win/terms; we hide a player whose nickname breaks them.
Your IP address
Requests reach us through Cloudflare, our network provider, which sees your IP address as any website's network provider does. Before a request goes on to our server, our own code at Cloudflare replaces your IP address with a code that changes every day. Our server uses that code only in its memory, to limit how many requests one connection can make, and never writes it down. We never store your IP address. Cloudflare's own handling of it is set out in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Purchases
The Full version is sold by Google Play on Android and by the App Store on iOS. They take your payment and do not share your payment details with us. The app asks your device's store whether you own the Full version, and remembers the answer on your device. We keep no record of purchases on our server.
Sharing your score
The Share button at the end of a game makes a short text with your score, which you can send with your device's own share sheet. Nothing is shared unless you choose to.
The website playtest
The Fire5 website is a private playtest. Testers sign in with an account on our own server, which holds the name and email address of each tester we invite. The website keeps and sends the same game data as the apps.
Who handles data for us
DigitalOcean hosts our server and its backups, and Cloudflare runs our network. They handle data only to provide those services to us, and they may do so outside your country. Both are bound by their terms with us to protect this data at least as well as this policy does. We share data with no one else, unless the law requires it.
How we protect it
Everything the app sends us travels over HTTPS. Our server and its backups are on access-controlled systems that only we can reach, and your device's secret is stored only as a one-way hash. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep what we store to the minimum the game needs.
How long we keep it
We keep finished games and nicknames while Fire5's leaderboards run, unless you delete them (Menu > About > Delete my data) or ask us to. Copies in our server's backups are replaced over time, within the number of days given below.
Your choices and rights
- You can delete your data yourself: Menu > About > Delete my data removes your finished games, nickname, leaderboard rows and reports from our server at once and resets the app with a new player ID. Copies in our server backups are replaced within 90 days.
- The first time Fire5 opens it asks whether to send your games to the leaderboards. The menu's "Join leaderboards" switch turns that off or on at any time. With it off, your games, nickname and player ID stay on your device.
- You can play without a nickname, and change it at any time.
- You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it. Email support@gamingvanguard.com with your nickname or leaderboard tag and roughly when you played. We answer within 30 days.
- Depending on where you live, such as the EU, the UK or California, you may have further rights, including the right to object and to complain to your data protection authority.
Where EU or UK law applies, we use your game data because we have a legitimate interest in running the game and its leaderboards, keeping them fair, and improving the game.
Children
Fire5 is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update this page and its date.
